Damien Pinon is a family-run estate in Vouvray (Loire Valley), managing roughly 25ha of Chenin Blanc vineyards in tuffeau-soiled hills around Vernou-sur-Brenne. Since 2020 the vines have been farmed organically, and the estate achieved organic certification in 2023. Their winemaking emphasises low-intervention, native-yeast ferments and traditional cellar methods; a grounded Loire style that values purity and terroir expression. 100% Chenin Blanc, bottle-fermented following the traditional method and aged for 18 months on lees before disgorgement. In the glass it shows a pale golden-lemon hue with fine, persistent bubbles. Aromas of white flowers, pear, apple blossom and a hint of wet stone. The palate is fresh and elegant, with crisp orchard fruit, citrus peel and a subtle mineral-chalk backbone, all carried by vibrant acidity and a refined mousse. A well-balanced Loire sparkling, perfect as aperitif or soft cheeses.
